Career

Liz Jones is a professional, touring original songwriter and singer. Built from scratch and resilience, she has carved a working career through a combination of self penned live shows and tours, a supportive online community and multiple records/albums, both solo and with her band Broken Windows. Starting at open mics, into jam sessions and then to grassroots live gigs across the country, and internationally. She has grounded both a surprising and comfortable performance and music style within folk storytelling and blues grooves, and remains defiantly and unapologetically real life.

Modest in name and image, Liz hooks first timers with an unexpected sailing raw and incomparable voice, that swings from moody soothing to "raising the dead". She holds audiences with unruly songwriting and an honest display in performance. Touring from her base and long term home in Edinburgh, Jones was born in Lewisham, with many years in London either side of school days in Cumbria and Nottingham, she self acknowledges as a "woman from nowhere".
